The Thundering Herd wasn't the only football team to visit City Hall today. The Birmingham City Council also recognized the J.H. Phillips Academy Lions for winning the city championship for middle school football this season! Today is Thundering Herd Day! Mayor Randall Woodfin and Councilor Darrell O'Quinn presented the 6A football state champions to the Birmingham City Councilthis morning. The council unanimously passed a resolution honoring the team, with the Mayor Woodfin also issuing a proclamation declaring Dec. 17, 2024 as A.H. Parker Thundering Herd Day. Let's continue the celebration with the championship parade today at noon!
