Academies of Birmingham
Academies of Birmingham are career and technical education pathways comprised of small learning communities that provide relevant curricula, work-based learning opportunities, and internships in the field of study. Students have a unique opportunity to learn about a career while simultaneously gaining hands-on experience. Students experience career exposure through various platforms, including but not limited to internships, speakers, job shadowing, and industry tours. Faculty are constantly looking for opportunities to provide various options for students to consider.

"I have always wanted to gain the skills to be able to work with children. I love kids! I have returned to BCS as a PreK Assistant teacher in the class where my observations begin. I am happy to have had the opportunity to work with kids and gain my Child Development Associate through the Academy of Urban Educators."
