The future is now, and 1,500 high school scholars from Birmingham City Schools had the opportunity to experience it first hand at Amazon Future Forward.
Presented by Amazon in partnership with Birmingham Promise, the free immersive career and technology experience was designed In collaboration with the Birmingham City Schools Post-Secondary Success Department to inspire students to see themselves as future leaders, innovators, and professionals.
The experience took place in three stations at Ramsay High School, with students rotating among them throughout the day.
In Willie Scoggins Jr. Gymnasium, the Amazon x Caps Design Challenge divided participants into teams and challenged them to pitch a social media post promoting Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant as a helper for the differently abled.

In the auditorium, the Future Forward panel gave the audience insight on potential career paths in robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, software development, operations, supply chain and other high-demand fields.

In the practice gym, the Innovation Hub showcased an AI racing experience, a breakdancing robot, a photo robot and tables with music provided by DJ Zach Alan.
