Music mogul Master P, whose real name is Percy Miller, made a special appearance at Norwood Elementary School this morning ahead of his concert at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC).
During his visit, Miller, along with his mascot sidekick, Captain Ace, spent time with students and read to a group of scholars, using his platform to encourage the importance of music, literacy, education and dreaming big.
At the conclusion of the assembly, Mayor Randall Woodfin and Superintendent Dr. Mark Sullivan presented a proclamation in honor of Miller's visit.

The visit gave students an opportunity to interact with the legendary artist and entrepreneur in an educational setting before he takes the stage Friday night for his Birmingham performance.
School officials said the visit is part of an effort to expose students to positive role models and reinforce the message that success can be achieved through education, hard work and perseverance.
