Birmingham, keep an eye out for Brittni Tucker!

Today, the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ) notified the Director of Information Technology for Birmingham City Schools as one of the publication's 2026 Women to Watch.

The full list of honorees is available on the BBJ's website (paywall) but Tucker and her peers will be featured in a special section online and in print later this month. The honorees will also be honored during a ceremony at the BBJ Women's Summit on Friday, September 18 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex.

"Seeing my name and photo among this group of accomplished women is such a special moment," said Tucker in a LinkedIn post. "My career has taken me through higher education, research, consulting, entrepreneurship, and now K–12 technology leadership.

"Through each chapter, I’ve tried to remain focused on the same things: growing as a leader, creating opportunities for others, using technology to make a meaningful impact, and never becoming too comfortable to keep learning."

In addition, Tucker was recently accepted into the 2026-2027 cohort of the Alabama Leaders in Educational Technology Chief Technology Officer Academy, a year-long certification program for district technology directors aligned to industry standards and state requirements.
