The Strategy and Communications Department of Birmingham City Schools (known colloquially as BCS Media) has earned three School Communication Awards for Publications and Digital Media Excellence from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).
The team won the Award of Merit in the Video category for the BCS Under the Lights: Senior Season Woodlawn documentary.
NSPSA also awarded the team the Award of Merit in the Video Series category for Success Starts Here: Visual News Stories, which included the stories on Dual Language Immersion program at Washington K-8 School and the Goodr Grocery Store opening at Huffman Middle School.
In addition, the "We Are BCS" employee spotlight video series was named an Honorable Mention for Video Series.

Our storytelling is impactful, and it’s helping people see the incredible things happening across our district," said Fred Davenport, Strategy and Communications Officer.
