The boys and girls track and field teams from Ramsay High School and Phillips Academy, as well as the boys from Jackson-Olin High School, earned at least a share of first place in the BCS Track and Field Championships, held today at Huffman High School.

The Ramsay girls ran away with the High School Division with 215 points, with Parker (97) taking second and Wenonah (90) placing third.

On the boys side of the High School Division, Ramsay and Jackson-Olin tied for first with each team tallying 120 total points. Parker (118) edged out Huffman (117) for third place.
Phillips swept the Middle School Division by wide margins, with Wilkerson Middle School boys and girls finishing second. Jackson-Olin Middle School (comprised of middle school scholar-athletes in the high school’s feeder pattern) placed third for the boys with Jones Valley Middle School claiming team bronze for the girls.
Individual highlights:
Ramsay’s Laila Holifield won gold in the girls 100m and 200m and silver in 400m
Ramsay’s Chrisopher Lewis dominated in the field events, taking home gold in javelin and shot put while settling for silver in discus
Jackson-Olin’s Kaius Stewart won gold boys 200m and 400m
Jackson-Olin boys 4x400 relay team finished with a time of 3:17.54 – the fastest in 6A in a decade – for gold
Phillips’s Chase Prince secured gold in the 800m and 1600m
