Oxmoor Valley Elementary School Band Director Takisha Shipman and Art Teacher Isabella Ziglar have secured a $10,000 grant for the school from the Arts Alliance Education Initiative.
This grant will support efforts to expand access to visual arts and instrumental music opportunities for students, provide modern tools, technology, and creative materials, strengthen artistic skills, creativity, and student confidence, and support hands-on learning experiences.
The grant will directly impact students by increasing engagement in arts education, providing more opportunities to create, perform, and showcase their work while fostering the development of creative, technical, and collaborative skills.
Students enrolled in K–5 visual arts and the instrumental music program at Oxmoor Valley Elementary will benefit from these expanded opportunities.
"We are very excited to receive this support from the Arts Alliance," said Mrs. Shipman. "It will allow our students to explore their creativity and grow their skills in ways that were not previously possible."
