Coach Darrell Lebeaux

Huffman High School has named Darrel LeBeaux as the new Head Football Coach of the Vikings football program. The Birmingham Board of Education approved the hire during its regularly scheduled board meeting on January 13.

Coach LeBeaux comes to Huffman after serving as Offensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach at Hoover High School, where he helped strengthen and sustain one of Alabama’s most respected and successful football programs. Recognized for his offensive leadership, commitment to player development, and ability to build winning culture, LeBeaux brings a championship mindset and a clear vision for long-term success.

“We are excited to welcome Coach LeBeaux and his family to Huffman,” said Steve Ward, Athletic Director. “His experience, leadership, and passion for developing student-athletes make him the right leader to guide our program forward.”

Huffman High School will officially introduce Coach LeBeaux during the “The Opening Drive” press conference on January 15 at 10 a.m. in Viking Arena. The event will include introductory remarks, an overview of Coach LeBeaux’s vision for the program, and a question-and-answer session with members of the media.

“‘The Opening Drive’ symbolizes more than a first play — it represents energy, direction, and purpose,” Ward said. “Coach LeBeaux’s approach emphasizes discipline, toughness, and accountability, while building young men on and off the field. His commitment to excellence aligns with the values of our school and community.”
