The METAL Bootcamp at the University of Alabama at Birmingham will introduce students to metal casting, including CAD modeling, 3D printing and making sand molds, lost foam casting, casting iron skillets and post-treatment of castings. Lawson State Community College is looking for 100 dynamic high school students (rising seniors) to participate in week long boot camp (July 20-25) in conjunction with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. The TMCF HBCU Scholars Program at Lawson State is a one-week residential program for high-achieving high school juniors (rising seniors). The program aims to serve students by providing a unique opportunity to learn about HBCC institutions, college admission, financial aid, and scholarship resources, as well as, exploring career pathways and academic programs. This program is FREE to all participants with a $100.00 gift card awarded to all program completers to support back-to-school purchases!
Applicants must provide official high school transcript (minimum 2.5 GPA) and apply via Google Forms by July 11.
