Due to the threat of inclement weather, Birmingham City Schools will have an E-Learning Day on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. All employees will work remotely. All after school and extracurricular activities are cancelled.

We have a lot of fun, exciting events taking place in December! We will be holding the Math Derby, Spelling Bee, and the annual Barrett Christmas Program! Please see the attached flyers for more information, and make sure to check Class Dojo often!
The link to the Spelling Bee and the Math Derby will be posted to Class Dojo the week before the events take place. No parents will be invited to see these two events in person.
Parents will be allowed to enter the school for the Christmas Program, and it will be held in the gym.

Prohibited items that are discovered during security inspections must either be returned to the owner’s vehicle or discarded. No items will be left at the gate. All other items that enter athletic facilities are subject to visual search.

"Who am I?: Barrett elementary version"! Teachers across the school have posted pictures of themselves during elementary school, with a special highlight for teachers that are products of BCS. As teachers, it is important to show our students that they can find success WHERE EVER they are. They can see that we were once in their shoes, walking similar halls. Last week students at Barrett dressed up to take a stand and say NO to drugs. They pledged to live a drug-free life during Red Ribbon Week 2024!
