Welcome back! We hope you all enjoyed your Winter Break!
To provide a better way of keeping our parents informed and involved, our BCS app has been updated to give you one, single place to see all of your messages for all BCS schools. This means you can see messages from each of your children’s teachers in one central location. In the app, you can read, reply, or start new messages. Rooms, our two-way communication tool can be found on our BCS app. We will begin using Rooms on January 12, 2026. Rooms will help you stay connected with your child’s teachers and school staff. We will no longer utilize ClassDojo after January 9, 2026
To receive updates from BCS and Barrett Elementary, please be sure to download the BCS School App, available in the App Store and Google Play.
To access Rooms:
● If you do not have a smartphone, you can access Rooms on the web at id.thrillshare.com/
● If you have a smartphone, search for "Birmingham City Schools, AL" in the App Store or Google Play. After installing, enable notifications. Tap the Rooms tab and login with the phone number or email associated with your PowerSchool parent profile. (You can update your phone number or email via PowerSchool.)

Barrett Elementary's Annual Spelling Bee is this Thursday, JANUARY 8, 2026 @ 9:00 a.m. The Spelling Bee is for Grades 3rd-5th only. Please help your child study at home.

Congratulations to our Top 5 Math Derby winners for grades K-2! Our 3rd-5th grade Math Derby will be held on this Friday, December 12th. 3rd-5th grade students who win FIRST place will go on to represent Barrett in the District Level Math Derby! GO WILDCATS!
