Our community is facing a potential food crisis due to the federal government shutdown. As you may have heard, more than 20 thousand families in Birmingham will see a pause with their SNAP benefits starting November 1. The disruption in SNAP benefits will impact our BCS family. We’re here to help.
If your family is affected, please know our schools will continue to provide your child breakfast and lunch every school day. We are working with our partners, including the city of Birmingham and the United Way of Central Alabama, to identify organizations that will provide food to families in need.
Visit our Bham Ready page for more information.

This Friday, October 31 will be an e-learning day for Birmingham City Schools! This day is also set aside for parent-teacher conferences, so please reach out to your teachers to schedule meetings during working hours.
Visit our Events page to view other key dates throughout the school year. #SuccessStartsHere
