During this week, participating colleges and universities waive their application fees, so students can apply to college at no cost. It's a great chance for seniors to submit applications and take a big step toward their post-high school plans without worrying about the fee.

Tonight, Jackson-Olin and Parker joined the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for Unity Night, part of the US United national Unity Seats initiative marking the 25th anniversary of September 11.
Prior to the game, Board Vice President James Sullivan, Board Members Antwon Womack and Yamika Foy, Jackson-Olin Principal Dr. John C. Lyons Jr. and A.H. Parker High Principal Darrell Hudson, along with Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief NaShonda Howard and Eric Marable of The Flourish & Greenhouse Alabama, student-athletes, school leaders, first responders and members of both Ensley and Smithfield communities paid tribute to those who lost and sacrificed their lives 25 years ago this day with a moment of silence.
Deputy Chief Howard also conducted the ceremonial coin toss, with honored guest joining her, officials, and team captains at midfield. #SuccessStartsHere #NeverForget
