During Sensational Summer Learning at Hayes K-8 School, we work hard AND play hard! After focusing on academics, scholars have the opportunity to enjoy some recreational activities. Scholars also have access to classes on podcasting.
Band members from across the district are honing their skills at the annual June Tunes band camp at Hayes K-8 School. The camp will conclude with a program at G.W. Carver High School on Friday, June 25 in the auditorium. #SuccessStartsHere 🎶🥁🎺

Summer is ALMOST here -- make sure to keep some good books near for your scholars! Our Curriculum and Instruction Department has curated its annual Summer Reading List for every reading level. K-5 lists include links to chapter books on myON as well.
We're horsing around for wellness at Hayes K-8! Equine therapy is a therapeutic approach using horses to help individuals improve mental, emotional, and physical health. 🐴
🌎✈️ Passport to learning! Today, scholars at Hayes K-8 School traveled the world without leaving campus during the International Fair. Students explored cultures from different countries, discovered global traditions, and enjoyed tasting foods from around the world. UAB students recently assembled and delivered bags of hygiene products for eighth-grade girls at Hayes K-8 School to fulfill their service learning project! The students contacted the Office of Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement and were then connected with Dr. Vivian Hopkins-Moss, the school's counselor. The UAB students also facilitated a discussion on hygiene with the young ladies during their visit! #SuccessStartsHere
