Good afternoon EPIC families. This is Principal, Aulundria Grace calling to inform you that we experienced a gas leak outside of our school today. Spire Energy responded quickly and immediately turned off the gas. The gas leak didn’t impact the wellbeing of our students and staff.
Out of abundance of caution, and in coordination with the utility company, the EPIC building will be closed on Monday, November 10th to allow further inspections. Scholars will receive academic instruction via Zoom.
Scholars who need additional devices such as a school issued iPad or mobile hotspot, can get those devices on Monday morning in the auditorium at the Lincoln Professional Development Center—located at 901 9th Avenue North.
Meal service for EPIC scholars will also be available at any Birmingham City School during the closure.

We will provide updates via telephone and school website on Monday.
